And the Oscars went to....

Tonight was a night that a few weeks ago, no one was sure would even happen. Hollywood, with ABC, celebrated the 80th Academy Awards. This year's Oscars was a pretty timely show, with all the big ones handed out closer to the end. While I hate the musical acts, it was nice to see something * not part of a Disney movie or a song Randy Newman wrote to win Best Original Song, which went to Once, an indie film. Jon Stewart did a real good job and the jokes were not too political nor too long - which always makes the audience happy. While the memoriam was touching, it did forget two people I think should have been remembered that way and that's Charles Nelson Reilly and Brad Renfro. The big winners were predictable and the color scheme seemed to be either red, black or creme for the ladies dresses.

The big awards went to the following:
Best motion picture of the year
* “No Country for Old Men” - Produced b Scott Rudin, Ethan Coen & Joel Coen
Achievement in directing
* “No Country for Old Men" - Directed by Joel Coen and Ethan Coen
Performance by an actor in a leading role
* Daniel Day-Lewis in “There Will Be Blood” (Paramount Vantage and Miramax)
Performance by an actor in a supporting role
* Javier Bardem in “No Country for Old Men”
Performance by an actress in a leading role
* Marion Cotillard in “La Vie en Rose”
Performance by an actress in a supporting role
* Tilda Swinton in “Michael Clayton”
Adapted screenplay
* “No Country for Old Men” - Written for the screen by Joel Coen & Ethan Coen
Original screenplay
* “Juno” - Written by Diablo Cody

While the red carpet is usually known best for its fashion do's and don'ts, this year E! managed to capture something way more interesting. Ryan Seacrest was about to interview Laura Linney, a nominee tonight and Jennifer Garner, who was in nominated Juno when Gary Busey stopped by. Please check below for one of the most amusing things to happen to a nice celebrity in a long time.

Ironically, Ben Affleck was part of another little fun celebrity joke tonight. Anywhos, I am getting some sleep, but tomorrow check back for the fashion round up and find out who is "fucking Ben Affleck".

ENJOY!!!!!
