Monday Movie Box Office Recap

Who said people weren’t going to buy Daniel Craig as James Bond? Well whoever did is biting their tongue to the tune of the $70 Million, which is what ”Quantum of Solace”, the lamest title of a film from the Bond franchise to date, pulled in this past weekend. This is the second strongest November opening for a film which is not a Harry Potter flick, after “The Incredibles”. The movie has already pulled in $250 Million overseas and is confirming with the studio why they chose Mr. Craig to step into Bond’s shows for at least another two feature length films. Coming in second were the zany animals in Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa, with very strong second weekend total of $36 Million, bringing the domestic gross to $118 Million after two weeks. Role Models, the hilarious comedy directed by David Wain, stayed strong comparatively, coming in third this weekend with a little under $12 Million. High School Musical 3 and Changeling rounded out the top five movies of the weekend, coming in at fourth and fifth, respectively.
