The Real Housewives of Atlanta are a bunch of hot bitches....

So last night was the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion show and it was a doozey. First, let’s say that much like Anderson Cooper, I am in love with Nene. She doesn’t take bull, is unimpressed with much of the hoopla these ladies find interesting and seems to have a grasp on what’s real. While I definitely know that this show is ridiculous in so many many ways, I can not help myself from watching the train wreck. I am not sure why they chose these particular five women to participate in this show, other then the obvious, but they do make relatively good TV. While the five ladies do not seem as close as say the bitches from the OC, they are pretending nicely for the camera that all they do is meet up and talk shit on one another, when they are not talking about their up and coming designing, singing, philanthropy careers. Kim, who has been ripped apart on the all the blogs for everything from her “singing voice” to her boyfriend, very much understands her role on the show and is not giving up on becoming a star. Unfortunately, the friendship that once was between Nene and Kim disappeared through the course of the show and as you can see from the clip below, there is a lot of love lost. I can not wait to see what goes down next season.

Daily Rounds....

So this weekend was riddled with cupcakes, family members, surly puppies, and unfortunately disasters worldwide. I discussed a Tom Cruise article I have been penning or typing technically, but with a few morning updates, i.e. Valkyrie being postponed once again, I am re-editing it and will publish it later today. I only let y’all know because I have some overzealous TC/Scientology info fans that are quite interested in his going ons and flatteringly enough, what I think about it. Anyways, let’s get to the Daily Rounds….

  • * Thousands were killed in a 7.9 magnitude earthquake, which hit central China this weekend. At this time, around 10,000 people were found to be dead from the quake and miles and miles of ruins surrounding the area. China has already released around $3 million to respond to the after effects of the disaster. While this was going on, Mynamar finally accepted aid from the US after the devastating cyclone it suffered from last week. Oxfam is reporting that we are looking towards a public-health catastrophe if survivors of the cyclone did not begin to receive aid and the medical attention they needed.

  • * Jenna Bush, twin daughter of our President, was married this weekend in a quiet ceremony at the Bush family’s home in Crawford,TX. And to be honest, it looked like quite a pretty ceremony and her gown was gorgeous.

  • * And I thought Jay Leno was boring. Well look out for NBC’s late night line up come 2009. When Jay Leno is forced out retires, Conan O’Brien will replace him as the lead in for the late night line up and NBC announced its plans to have Jimmy Fallon take over the Conan time slot. No explanation from the network why they wanted to make their viewers fall asleep at 12:40 AM, but this story has just begun. While the guy is affable, Fallon is almost a picture perfect example of how not to need an overwhelming talent can actually be a valuable thing in Hollywood.

  • * David O. Russell strikes again. I can’t believe this dude can movies anymore. Nikki Finke is reporting that Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel left the set of Russell’s latest film after SAG pulled the plug over financing. This is latest part in the saga that is Nailed the first being James Caan, a veteran of Hollywood for over 40 years, leaving the set and movie when he could no longer work with the “difficult” Russell.

  • * Finally, Jackie Warner from Bravo’s Work Out said some insanely harsh things about a gym client of one of her staff member’s on last week’s episode. The comments were directed towards a women and her breast implants. What was not known by Warner was the woman was a Breast Cancer survivor and her boyfriend overheard the nonsense. Brian, the women in question’s trainer and pain in the butt to Jackie, was fired over a confrontation about the negative comments. Well I was offended by the episode and thankfully so were sponsors, since Propel water by Gatorade pulled all their sponsorship of the series after the incident. For a chick who appreciates “strong women”, I would have liked a little more than that nonsense directed towards a breast cancer survivor. Feel free to echo my sentiments with Bravo.

  • * Jennie Garth has been confirmed as a recurring character on the 90201 spin off for the CW. Also rumored to be a part of the cast is ex-costar, Tori Spelling. I can not wait for this hot mess!

  • * Alec Baldwin defended himself on 60 Minutes this weekend over his divorce from Kim Bassinger and the very public custody battle. I don’t care what anyone says, I honestly believe this crackerjack. And speaking of Long Islanders, Lindsay Lohan is reportedly having problems with her “close friend” Samantha Ronson. The two were reportedly fighting at a West Hollywood club the other night and Lohan needed to be comforted by Lauren Conrad.

Later today hopefully, we will publish the Tom Cruise piece.

    ENJOY!

Work Out Season Three - I will tuning in...

I really enjoy watching Work Out, the reality show that focuses on Jackie Warner, trainer to the stars and her ever growing training business Sky Lab. Last night after the season premiere of Top Chef, we got a half hour glimpse of the third season. I have to say that this season looks like its going to be interesting with the new trainers and new projects coming up for Sky Lab. And I am going to go out on a limb and say that Jackie, best known for her athleticism as well as her ability to turn straight women gay is losing a bit of her dykability with me. I used to be like "Oh, I get it" and now with the long hair and pompous tude - not so much.

Drama will always surround a small business, especially with the help of reality producers and I am pretty sure this season will be no different. But I get a feeling that once your boss becomes a household name, they also become a lot harder to work for.

    Daily Rounds

I enjoyed discussing the Daily Rounds so much yesterday, I figured I would do it again today. Here we go...

  • +Hope is here. The Directors Guild of America have come to terms and made a tentative agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The two groups agreed on a three year contract that negotiated the rights and payment of online content. Word on the street is that this deal will be used to move the AMPTP and the WGA closer to a deal and an end to their strike. Hopefully this all happens before the Oscars!

  • +Speaking of writers, directors and actors – Oh MY!The Sundance Film Festival began in Park City last night. The most buzzed about movies this year for the festival are Be Kind Rewind, starring Jack Black and Mos Def, directed by Michel Gondry, & Choke, the adaptation of my favorite book by Chuck Palniuk, starring Sam Rockwell & Mysteries of Pittsburgh, starring Peter Sarsgaard and Sienna Miller. I have been so excited for Choke ever since I found out Rockwell was cast in the lead role. This could be (crossing my fingers) one of the best adaptations ever!

  • +EW interviews the latest Auf'd designer Kit from Project Runway. I have to say that I am super glad that “Team Fierce” won this week’s challenge since they seriously knocked it out of the park. I lover when the group gets smaller on the show because the competition really turns up. As long as Ricky is gone next week, we are going to have a real interesting race to Fashion Week.

  • +Lily Allen suffered a miscarriage. The singer and her partner, Ed Simons, of the Chemical Brothers, announced today through a spokesperson that the couple suffered a miscarriage. Our condolences go out both of them! These things are just so sad, especially when there really isn’t anything to do about it.

+The Smithsonian in DC is opening an exhibition celebrating hip hop and its culture with Recognize! Hip Hop and Contemporary Portraiture. The show opens in early February.
  • +Rosie O'Donnell is getting her own Broadway show. Apparently the dudes behind Spring Awakening felt the public needed to see Rosie’s life come to “life” on the stage. Uggh!

    Daily Rounds...

Let's start off by saying "Flipping Out" on Bravo is amazing!!!! The crazies definitely find their place in LA and I'm all for it. If you have not checked out this "flipper's" show and his staff of out of work actors...you need to. It's on Bravo at 10pm on Tuesdays and then reruned to death....

    And now the news:

  • John Mayer and Mandy Moore spotted together out and about in SOHO yesterday. Now this couple makes sense to me, if its true. I just hope they don’t start writing songs together…yecch! I believe they share producers though and since that coupling showed as much emotion as me hanging with my grandma..I’m thinking they are just friends.

  • Denise Brown boycotts the publishing of "If I did it", The O.J. Simpson confession novel about the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Why won’t this man disappear already?
  • Portia De Rossi joins heads to Nip/Tuck this fall and gets “close” to Joely Richardson (Julia). God I love this show and the fact that each season it seems the characters have had a lobotomy from their former selves. I heart FX dramas.
  • Myspace and XM team up to find the next big hip hop act.

  • Mommie Dearest Britney What will the weekly gossip rags do once this chick gets her life in check? Oh wait…I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Seriously, she needs new friends just as much as Lohan does. Has she ever heard of confidentiality agreements?
  • Celebrities have fun with airbrushing.
  • Paris Hilton lost her puppy and from the description on the poster I think she has been found.
  • Not only is Michael Vick mean to doggies he might just be a terrorist too?
  • I am beginning to think Mr. Federline is much smarter then we all thought. I give two years until him and Shar Jackson are back together.
  • HBO does not pick up “John from Cincinnati” for a second season. Did it matter since we would all just be as confused the second time around?
  • Evan Rachel Wood dishes with GQ about her career, relationship with Marilyn Manson and what the future holds for this actress. This chick, while young, is ready to be the next big thing. She has the chops and she is amazing to watch on screen. I’m just not sure how you go from Ed Norton to Manson, but that’s not my concern.

So the question of the week is, what reality show is your (my readers) guilty pleasure????

ENJOY the Spielster and don’t forget to watch Top Chef tonight on Bravo to see who packs up their knives tonight!!!!
